Brain Tumour Awareness Month
March 1 - March 31
March 2021 is Brain Tumour Awareness Month, so we wanted to do our bit to help raise awareness of the disease that affects 16,000 people a year in the UK, and is responsible for the loss of over 5,000 lives.
Here in Sheffield, your support helps those diagnosed with brain tumours by providing advanced equipment, supporting patients with their rehabilitation, or funding research that seeks to find new and more effective treatments.
Over the month, we’ll be talking to Neurocare supporters whose lives have been affected by the diagnosis of a brain tumour. We’ll also be talking to NHS staff in Sheffield who have dedicated their lives to treating and caring for those with brain tumours, and exploring how your continued support makes a difference.
Make sure to check out our news page to keep up to date with our Brain Tumour Awareness Month stories throughout March.
We’re also asking you to show your support for brain tumour awareness by wearing Neurocare’s colours – purple or green!
Taking part is simple:
- Take a selfie wearing purple or green
- Post it to social media, tagging Neurocare and some friends to nominate to do the same to help raise awareness
- Make a suggested donation of £1 and encourage your friends to donate too. You can donate here
Every penny raised will support projects that improve the care and treatment of patients with brain tumours, head injuries and neurological conditions in Sheffield Teaching Hospitals.
